Leah’s story
“I connected with Jet during a period of deep misalignment between my work, values and goals. I felt stuck having achieved so much of what I thought I wanted for myself, and the new direction I was growing towards. I had many ideas and irons in the fire, but was juggling burnout symptoms and a work environment that was eroding my mental health. To be totally honest, my confidence had been shot down. I didn’t articulate my challenges very well! But Jet just got it. From our first session, I could tell she understood and had been in my shoes for many of the challenges I was experiencing.

Jet was patient, empathetic and direct, asking crucial questions that would marinate for months following our sessions. Not pushing for answers, just encouraging and prompting honest reflection. I ended up stepping away from the path I was on, and taking some time to heal and process. I’m now starting my own business and feeling much more liberated and aligned. There was no easy way out of what I was going through, but Jet helped me come out the other side believing in myself. Which has set me up to rebuild and create the future I want for myself.”

Kindness and accountability can coexist.
Nova invited me to speak to a very human tension within its team.
Kindness had come to mean keeping things comfortable: no conflict, no healthy tension and no difficult opinions. At the same time, the desire for authenticity did not always leave much room for the discernible humanity of colleagues and leaders.
Through a talk on The Affection Economy and a guided values-led workshop, we explored what kindness looks like when it has courage behind it.
We considered the values each person carried into work, how those values shaped their response to tension, and how individual behaviour becomes collective culture.
The experience created space for the team to think differently about kindness, accountability and workplace culture — and to recognise their own part in all three.
