Week Fifteen — Transparency (The Flame)

Clarity, Spoken Early

Transparency is often positioned as openness.

In practice, it is timing.

Not just what is said —
but when it is said.

This week in the 365 Acts of Affection focuses on how transparency shows up in everyday work and leadership.

Sharing what you’re working on.
Admitting uncertainty.
Clarifying intention before speaking.
Stating boundaries directly.
Correcting misunderstandings early.
Naming tension openly.
Inviting feedback without defence.

These are small acts.

But they change how work moves.

In organisations, a lack of transparency creates drag.

People spend time interpreting instead of acting.
Misunderstandings compound.
Tension builds quietly.

Transparency reduces that drag.

It brings clarity forward.
It allows issues to be addressed while they are still manageable.
It removes the need for guesswork.

Importantly, transparency is not about saying more.

It is about saying what matters, at the right moment.

Clear intent reduces friction.
Direct boundaries prevent resentment.
Naming tension releases pressure.

This week is an invitation to bring things forward —
not perfectly, but early enough to be useful.

Because work moves faster when people are not working in the dark.
